JOAN BOYD
President

Joan Boyd helps companies improve their bottom line performance. For over a decade, she has developed and applied retail and merchandise planning strategies for some of the most progressive businesses in the fashion industry. For her employers and clients, Ms. Boyd has delivered planning initiatives that improve top-line sales growth and gross margin positions while reducing costly over-ownership exposure.

Ms. Boyd started her planning career when the practice was still in its infancy. In the early 1990’s, as one of three planners at Tommy Hilfiger, she helped to develop analytical tools and strategies that would later become industry standards. From Tommy she went on to establish and run planning departments for various other brands.

More recently, she has served the industry as an independent consultant, providing planning and related services to companies in fashion, mass-market sporting goods, private equity and jewelry. She currently splits her time between New York City and Maine.

MICHELE ROQUE
Senior Consultant

Michele Roque’s 15 year career has been spent in both the retail and wholesale side of the garment industry. She has worked as a buyer for high-end retailers in many different merchandise classifications including accessories, lingerie and ready-to-wear. On the wholesale side, Michele has focused her abilities in two different areas of merchandising; as a Merchandise Manager and as a Director of Merchandise Planning. The responsibilities of the former position included sourcing and choosing fabric for garments, assorting and developing lines, creating garments that were part of a coherent story, and most importantly meeting a profit margin with each item. Michele also has experience with businesses that require buying narrow and deep as well as those that require broader assortment planning.
